Every member of our team is professional and well trained. We conduct a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify the best home care providers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of home care and become Comfort Keepers®. What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others. 

All Comfort Keepers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education. They are bonded, insured and covered by workers' compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families.

Paul Cain, PhD

Chief Problem Solver

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Cain was educated in Europe at the University of Paris and the University of Heidelberg where he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy with minors in Psychology and Sociology. He has been active in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies. Dr. Cain is a nationally known speaker, author and business consultant. He is our fearless leader and Chief Problem Solver and has lived in Jupiter for 12 years.
 

Lucia Voellinger

Administrator

Lucia was born in Cairo, Egypt and graduated from Italian Private High School. She has travelled around the world due to her diplomatic family’s relocation, gaining the knowledge of 5 languages. She moved to the USA in 2006 and started her family in Palm Beach County. After having two wonderful boys she went back to work in the Home Health Agency field rapidly becoming an excellent Schedule Manager of 10,000 hours a week for a Pediatrics Home Health Agency. Stepping into her role as the Administrator of Comfort Keepers, Lucia is committed to serving the geriatric population with the same passion and enthusiasm she has had in all her former positions in the Home Health field.

Fran Vallie, RN

Lead RN, Alternate Administrator

Fran is originally from Canada where she earned her nursing degree at the Victoria School of Nursing in London, Ontario.  She currently holds her RN license in both Michigan and Florida.  She has been active as Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing and Regional Manager  for over 15 years.  She also has experience as the Branch Manager for three  Blood Bank locations. Fran was active in Habitat for Humanity as a family liaison in St. Lucie County. While watching elderly parents of friends struggle with their activities of daily living, Fran decided that she needed to be involved  by using her experience to help this growing population. She found her place as a Comfort Keeper and continues to find great joy as she conducts RN assessments, oversees Quality Control and is a Home Health Aide Supervisor for Comfort Keepers in Jupiter and Stuart.

Nicole Baker

Client Care Coordinator

Nicole was born and raised in Port St. Lucie. She was introduced to the home health care field and began working in it at the age of 15 when she received her Level 1 and 2 certifications in Alzheimer's and Dementia care. Upon receiving this certification, Nicole spent the summers of her high school years volunteering at the Alzheimer's Community Day Care in Stuart. During that time she also worked as a clerical assistant at a home health agency in Port St. Lucie. After graduating high school, Nicole studied at both the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and Indian River State College. After graduating, she began working again in the home health industry, this time as an Alzheimer's and Dementia certified caregiver in her community. Since joining Comfort Keepers, Nicole has advanced progressively because of her attention to quality care and excellent communication practices for her families. She now is active daily as our Lead Client Care Coordinator.

Cogan Cain

Home Safety Coordinator

Cogan is a fourth year college student in Healthcare Management. He has been active with Comfort Keepers for three years. As our Home Safety Coordinator, he is dedicated to the development of a safe environment for all Comfort Keepers' Clients.  Cogan is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the safety technology devices that we provide to our clients, including the popular PERS unit. Cogan is also involved in Senior outings, events and various transportation needs. When someone needs to get somewhere fast, Cogan is the guy to go to.
 

Amy King, RN

RN, Quality Control

Amy is a Florida native. She worked as a CNA at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, for 6 years, while attending Palm Beach College, to earn her Nursing Degree.  Amy spent her first 10 years as a Nurse, in skilled Nursing facilities. She then worked with Hospice of Palm Beach County for 10 years.  Throughout her experiences in these areas, she has found that making other People comfortable has always been her major goal. She brings her high level of experience to our Comfort Keepers team, conducting Client Assessments, Quality Control, and Home Health Aide Supervisor, since the beginning of 2014.

Arlene Alpert, LMHC

Advisory Committee Member

Arlene is a respected business consultant, psychotherapist, professional speaker, author and educator. Arlene has been a resident of Tequesta for 15 years now. She has shared her knowledge, experience and expertise in the United States and abroad with thousands of people who have experienced substantial positive changes in their lives and careers. Arlene serves on our Professional Advisory Committee.
 

Joan Fitzsimmons, RN

RN

With over 40 years of nursing experience, Joan brings a broad background of healthcare and nursing knowledge to the team at Comfort Keepers.  Joan has extensive hospital experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care, and Emergency Department nursing.  She also has many years of experience gained by working as a school nurse and administrator in a large school district. Joan has also been active as the Care Manager for her aging mother and therefore is very cognizant of and sensitive to the needs and requests of clients and their families to enable clients to maintain a vibrant quality of life at any age!

Jodi Carey

HR Manager

Jodi is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University.  She was raised in New York, lived in Connecticut for 16 years before moving to Florida nine years ago where she now calls home.  Her experience in the pharmaceutical industry for over 19 years brings an inside extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiological needs of our patients.  Jodi also had the privilege to work for Hospice and brings commitment and passion to our patients’ health, happiness and wellbeing.

Jean Campbell

Scheduling Coordinator

Since relocating to Florida over eleven years ago, Jean has been active in the healthcare field in a variety of capacities. She has served as Scheduling Coordinator and Central Supply Manager at a large Skilled Nursing Facility in Palm Beach Gardens where she managed daily assignments for over 150 Nurses and Healthcare Aides. Following that position, Jean entered into the Home Health Care field and honed her skills matching Caregivers and Clients to ensure the right fit of needs and personalities. She brings a deep commitment and a high level of experience to the Comfort Keepers Team to ensure the highest level of quality care for our clients.

Jennifer Slean

Office Manager

Jenn keeps our office flowing smoothly by overseeing Payroll, Billing and general Office Management. Recruited for her outstanding organizational skills by our Administrator, Jenn comes to us from the hospitality industry where she was active in managerial capacities including the handling of financial matters and personnel development. She is an avid organizer and, outside the office, a water sports enthusiast.
